What is BABA?
The Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) is a federal law that requires materials used in federally funded infrastructure projects to be produced in the United States.
This applies to iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in projects funded by federal financial assistance — including roads, bridges, water systems, broadband, and public buildings.
For manufactured products, at least 55% of the cost of components must come from domestic sources, and all manufacturing processes must take place in the United States.
